Also impressive: the inspect page offers an absurdly deep number of stats about your piece. Of course it gives a word count, but it also tracks total characters, words per sentences, parts of speech and root words. It even calculates your writing’s Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level.

Phraseology is packed useful features, some of which I haven’t seen in an iOS text editor before.

• [Change] When triggering a “replace” request to Terminology, provide additional parameter so that if the replace is cancelled in Terminology you will be returned to Phraseology. Requires Terminology 2.11 or greater.
• [Change] Registered a broader range of file types to “Open in” dialogs in a broader range of apps should show Phraseology as an option.
• [Fix] Do not scroll text to new location when editing begins if external keyboard is present.
• [Fix] Closing Markdown preview of a document in the archive folder would close the document.
• [Fix] Export of document with special characters not friendly to filenames would fail silently.

App Cubby’s great new app Launch Center makes it easy to access many things on your iPhone.

Launch Center also features Terminology as one of it’s pre-configured App shortcuts. You can easily add a shortcut to lookup the contents of your clipboard in Terminology. Check it out!

• [New] Arrange view now has a “Sentence” mode, to allow arranging text by sentences, in addition to the original paragraph mode.
• [New] Keyboard accessory view provides quick access to undo/redo, common text navigation and selection tools. This is very much a work in-progress, we’d love to hear if you find it useful, or changes you’d like to see to this view.

• [Improvement] Audit of VoiceOver/Accessibility labels. There are still areas of the app that do not work well with VoiceOver, but I am working to address this in updates.
• [Improvement] Better auto-save behavior to prevent data loss due to unexpected crash when typing large amount of data.
• [Fix] Text no longer appears blurry after entering focus mode.
• [Fix] A change in 1.0.3 effected the inspect view’s ability to analyze Chinese and other non-latin texts, this has been fixed.

Phraseology comes in cheaper than the likes of Writer and Pages, but I can honestly say that I won’t ever go back to the aforementioned apps now that I use Phraseology. If you’re a fan of doing your writing work on your iPad, don’t think twice about Phraseology, get hold of it now and thank me later.

…the experience of using the iPad with a separate, full-sized keyboard is amazing. (I had the chance to do this a couple times.) Without the separate keyboard, typing is a real drag; but with the keyboard and a good app, especially the brilliant Phraseology, the portability and total immersion in the writing environment made working on the iPad a real pleasure.

What’s right about Phraseology is that it’s a surprisingly feature-rich text editor that presents a classy and fluid working environment that should suit a variety of needs.
